Curry Takagiya, a curry specialty restaurant featuring counter seating and an open kitchen concept, officially opened its doors on January 6, 2023. The proprietor, after extensive experimentation, has crafted two signature curry dishes: the Dry Curry with Minced Beef and the Chicken (Kashiwa) Curry. Additionally, a Lamb Curry is slated to be added to the menu in the near future.
The Dry Curry features ground beef curry, a boiled egg, and dried fenugreek leaves sprinkled over turmeric rice. This colorful dish boasts an intense flavor profile, utilizing almost thirty spices, and offers a moderate level of spiciness that leaves a refreshing aftertaste.
Meanwhile, the Kashiwa Curry is a delectable dish of tender chicken coated in a thick roux, served over turmeric rice. For a unique taste experience, customers are encouraged to mix in the optional raw egg yolk halfway through the meal. This curry starts off sweet, but the depth of flavor and heat gradually builds with each spoonful.
To enhance the dining experience, both dishes are served on plates kept at a temperature of 90 degrees, ensuring optimal taste and texture.
