Hakata Uosuke

Located in the basement of the JRJP Hakata Building, Eki Kara Sanbyappo Yokocho literally means “the row of shops 300 steps from the station,” and as the name implies, it offers many dining options just a quick walk from Hakata Station. One such popular destination is Uosuke, where you can eat fresh fish sourced daily from the fish market for unbelievably low prices. Fish dishes and weekly specials start at just ¥500, and the popular sashimi platter, which serves two, is only ¥1,000! Uosuke maintains its low prices and freshness by buying direct from fishermen. While you’re here, don’t forget to try the goma saba, a local specialty of mackerel sashimi topped with sesame dressing.

Menu (tax excl.): Dish of the day ¥500, sashimi platter (2 servings) ¥1,000, straw seared bonito ¥500, fresh salt-grilled conger eel¥500, goma saba ¥880, fried horse mackerel ¥500 *no table charge
*Prices to change from Oct. 1, 2019 following tax increase

*Foreign language menu: English / Credit cards accepted (Diners, JCB, Mastercard, Visa) / Reservations not possible / No smoking
