Maybe you didn’t notice, but the Jamaican population in Fukuoka doubled. Now there’s at least two Jamaicans in town. And this one’s busy spreading authentic Jamaican flavor around town. From his minivan mobile kitchen, complete with custom-built charcoal-burning drum, Ibo serves succulent spicy jerk chicken, pea rice, red bean soup and more. Chicken and fried green banana chips are just ¥500. Sometimes parked in Daimyo, sometimes Oyafuko, sometimes points in between you’re more like to smell the sweet smoke before you spot him.
