The aggregate production of the four automakers in Kyushu in FY 2010 reached 1.08 million units, the Nishinippon Shimbun reported. This represents an increase from the 2009 total of 990,000 units, and is the first time more than one million units were manufactured in three years. As of early March, production was on a pace to reach 1.14 million units, but the impact of the Tohoku earthquake prevented that.
