23-Year-Old Fukuoka Policewoman Wins World Kendo Championship 

A 23-year-old female officer from the Fukuoka Prefectural Police won the world kendo championship last month and was commended by the chief on the 13th. Maika Senoo, a first-year officer in the police training division, triumphed over competitors from 11 countries in the women’s individual category at the “World Combat Games” held in Saudi Arabia on the 29th of last month. Reflecting on her win, Senoo mentioned the weight of the world championship medal and her approach of giving her all in each match. Additionally, the Fukuoka Prefectural Police’s women’s kendo team, including Senoo, won their first national police kendo tournament last month.
