Chiba-based Aeon Agri Create, an Aeon group member that operates five farms in the Kanto area, announced it will begin direct operation of a farm in Kokonoe-machi, Oita Prefecture, in September. They plan to grow 1,000 tons of produce a year, including cabbage and lettuce, for sale in the group’s supermarkets, many of which are in Kyushu. It is the group’s first directly operated farm in Kyushu.
