Agricultural Report for Kyushu Released
The Kyushu Regional Agricultural Administration Office released what is referred to as the Kyushu Agricultural White Paper for FY 2011. As of the end of the fiscal year, in March 2012, 22 people in the industry from the Tohoku region, devastated by last year’s earthquake and tsunami, had resettled in Kyushu. Meanwhile, concerns over radiation-contaminated livestock and the resulting depressed prices had a negative impact on Kyushu, despite being far removed from the affected area.
