Kumamoto Prefecture-based Amakusa Airlines announced it will launch new service to Osaka’s Itami Airport on December 15. If purchased up to seven days before the flight, tickets will cost 8,000 yen for a one-way trip, less than half the normal fare. They are competing with both JAL and ANA, whose regular one-way fares are 7,500 yen cheaper. The company said the airline had to make an impact with price because prop-driven aircraft take longer to reach their destination.
