Automated Baggage Systems Debut at Fukuoka International Terminal

Fukuoka Airport has expanded its automated baggage drop service to the international terminal as of May 13, previously available only at the domestic terminal. The implementation of these machines significantly reduces the baggage check-in time for international flights, from a waiting period of approximately 20-30 minutes to about one and a half minutes. Passengers can utilize the service after checking in and printing their baggage tags at automated check-in machines. However, oversized items such as golf bags and strollers must still be processed at manned counters. As of the launch date, the airlines that have adopted this system include Singapore Airlines, China Airlines, and Thai Airways, with Cathay Pacific and Starlux Airlines expected to join later in the month.
