Campgrounds Across Kyushu Closing for Golden Week

Campgrounds in Kyushu have announced temporary closures amidst the impact of the new coronavirus spread. While such facilities are considered as safe destinations for families by some, the risk of creating crowds at such places is creating concern. Facilities including Aburayama Citizens’ Forest (*some facilities will remain open) and Onojo Ikoinomori have announced temporary closures until May 6. Also, Saga Prefecture closed two campgrounds after seeing increasing numbers of visitors from the neighboring prefectures. More closures and changes in operation are expected to be announced in other prefectures in Kyushu. Source: Yomiuri
