Canon Opens New Factory in Miyazaki

Canon Inc. and Miyazaki Canon Inc. announced the opening of a new factory in Takanabe, Miyazaki Prefecture. The new production base has a floor space of 57,000 square meters employ approximately 1,500 employees. Production of digital cameras and lenses will partially start in May. At the opening ceremony on Apr. 23, Miyazaki Prefecture Governor Shunji Kono mentioned that the launch of the new factory can encourage more young people to stay in or come back to the prefecture by creating job opportunities.
