China Eastern Airlines has announced plans to begin regular flights between Kitakyushu Airport and Dalian, China. The new service will begin on May 1, which marks the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of a friendship agreement between the cities of Kitakyushu and Dalian, and there will be three flights a week. The flights will also feature business class seats because representatives from Kitakyushu-based companies with operations in Dalian are expected to make use of the new service. Given Dalian’s extensive network of connections to travel companies in both Japan and China, Kitakyushu hopes the new flight will bolster inbound tourism and enhance exchange between the two cities.
