The Association to Protect Fukuoka and its Living Environment, an organization fighting excessive construction in Fukuoka City and Kitakyushu, announced the establishment of the Fukuoka Urban Destruction Award. The award will be bestowed on those commercial buildings and condominiums that disrupt neighborhood harmony or the environment. The association hopes to use the award to highlight their efforts to revise building codes and municipal law to be more compatible with the lives of the people.
