The Kyushu – Shangdong Province Environmental Business Mission, a conference to discuss the possibility of Kyushu companies working with the Chinese province’s largest city of Qingdao to deal with environmental issues, was held in Qingdao last week. Conference organizer Kyushu Recycle and Environmental Industry Plaza (K-RIP) said they received 70 inquiries for business discussions from Chinese companies. Participating from Kyushu were 18 companies and organizations, mostly from northern Kyushu. The Qingdao companies were most interested in water treatment and recycling technology.
