Cruise Ship Tourism Resumes in Fukuoka Prefecture

After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, international cruise ships have returned to Moji Port in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. On the 27th, the American cruise ship “Azamara Quest,” docked at the port. The ship had departed from Tokyo on March 19th and made stops in Tohoku, Hokuriku, and Busan, South Korea before arriving in Moji Port. Roughly 600 passengers from 30 countries and regions disembarked after completing immigration procedures onboard. To welcome the visitors, the port featured a hospitality event with free kimono fittings and a matcha tea experience. Passengers enjoyed immersing themselves in Japanese culture before visiting local attractions like Kokura Castle and Sarakurayama. The cruise ship is set to continue its journey to Hiroshima later in the evening. Source: NHK
