Emu Sightings Stir Curiosity in Fukuoka

An emu, a large bird second in size only to the ostrich, has been spotted multiple times between February 10 and 13 in Aburayama, Fukuoka City. The first report came from a 62-year-old man who encountered the bird while descending the mountain, describing it as an ostrich-like animal about 160 cm tall. Subsequent sightings confirmed it was an emu, not an ostrich. The bird has been seen near the mountain’s summit, but has not yet been captured, and no reports from its owner have surfaced. Police are urging anyone who spots the emu to contact local authorities. Source: KBC
