First Export Rise in Four Terms

Moji Customs released trade statistics for the seven Kyushu prefectures plus Yamaguchi and Okinawa prefectures for the January – June period showing that exports from the region totaled 3.5134 trillion yen. This was a 39.7% jump from the previous year and the first increase in four terms. It is also the second largest increase since statistics were first kept in 1980. The increase was attributed to the rebound from the global economic downturn.
