First Made-In-Kyushu Satellite Successfully Launched


The first satellite made entirely in Kyushu, the KSAT, was successfully launched into earth orbit from the Tanegashima Space Center atop an H2A rocket. It was built as a joint project between Kagoshima University and six Kagoshima Prefecture corporations and groups. The satellite will measure the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere and be used to forecast the weather.
