Fukuoka Airport to Raise International Terminal Fees

Fukuoka Airport will increase the international terminal facility fees starting March 30, 2025, to fund ongoing terminal upgrades. The fees for passengers aged 12 and older will rise from the current ¥980 to ¥2,530, while fees for children aged 2 to 11 will increase from ¥490 to ¥1,260. A new fee structure will also apply to transfer passengers, who will pay ¥1,260 for adults and ¥630 for children, a category previously exempt from such charges.

The increased revenue will support the completion of terminal renovations, including the extension of the concourse and the expansion of duty-free shopping areas, aligning the airport’s facilities with those of major hubs such as Haneda (¥2,950) and Narita (¥2,460). These changes are the first major revisions to Fukuoka Airport’s fee structure, aside from adjustments for tax changes, and are expected to generate an additional ¥5 billion annually based on the projected 8 million international travelers per year.

Fukuoka Airport emphasized that the improvements aim to enhance passenger experiences, especially as the airport seeks to accommodate growing international traffic. The airport management expects the upgraded terminal to play a key role in solidifying Fukuoka’s position as a gateway to Kyushu and East Asia. Source: Fukuoka Airport
