Fukuoka as International Financial Center Attracts Four New Firms

Four new companies, including a Taiwanese bank, are planning to set up operations in Fukuoka City, according to a report at a general meeting of an organization (TEAM Fukuoka) aiming to attract an international financial center to the city. The government is considering the establishment of an international financial center to serve as a representative center for foreign financial institutions in Asia, and Fukuoka, Tokyo, and the Kansai region have all expressed interest. The four companies include Taiwan’s E.SUN Bank and M-DAQ, a Singaporean company that provides financial services called fintech, which combines finance and IT.
