Fukuoka Budget Helps Industries Hit By Covid, Red Tide

The Fukuoka prefectural assembly has passed a supplementary budget of approximately 10 billion yen to support agricultural, forestry, and fishery workers affected by rising material costs and nori seaweed farmers affected by red tide damage. The budget includes subsidies for shipping costs, school meal fees, and support for fishery workers to stabilize nori seaweed farming. The budget also provides subsidies for the cost of hosting the postponed World Swimming Championships and World Masters Championships. The assembly is expected to vote on the new fiscal year budget, which includes costs for free sick child care and the “Sign Language Ordinance,” on March 20th. Source: NHK
