At a meeting in Busan, South Korea, on the 24th, Busan Mayor Hur Nam-sik and Mayor Hiroshi Yoshida of Fukuoka City agreed to make a joint declaration in August calling for the creation of a Super-Regional Economic Zone encompassing Kyushu and the southeastern part of South Korea. The objective will be to contribute to the greater economic development of both countries. They plan to establish a council to establish a set of priorities for the effort.
