Fukuoka Cherry Blossoms: Early Bloom Forecast!

The Japan Weather Association released its cherry blossom forecast on March 6th, predicting that the cherry trees in Fukuoka City are expected to bloom on March 20th, which is two days earlier than the average year. The forecast for Somei-Yoshino cherry trees indicates that this year’s bloom in Fukuoka will occur two days earlier than usual but two days later than last year. The prediction is based on this winter’s generally higher temperatures, offset by a recent return to colder weather, leading to an earlier than usual bloom, yet later than the previous year. The anticipated date for peak bloom in Fukuoka City is March 29th, also two days earlier than the norm. Additionally, blooming predictions for other Kyushu locations include March 20th for Kumamoto City, March 21st for Nagasaki City, Saga City, and Miyazaki City, March 22nd for Oita City, and March 27th for Kagoshima City. In a separate forecast, the private meteorological company Weather Map expects the cherry blossoms to open in Fukuoka City and Kumamoto City on March 20th, Nagasaki City and Saga City on March 21st, Miyazaki City on March 22nd, Oita City on March 24th, and Kagoshima City on March 28th.
