Fukuoka City Reportedly Considering to Install Cameras in Subway Cars

Fukuoka City has announced that it is considering installing security cameras in all city-operated subway cars to prevent molestation. Currently, a total of 32 security cameras are installed in some cars of the Nanakuma Line between Hakata Minami Station and Hashimoto Station. In the future, the city is considering installing security cameras not only on the Nanakuma Line but also on the Kuko Line and Kaizuka Line to prevent victims of molestation. In the five years up to the last fiscal year, 99 reports of molestation and 17 cases of assault against subway employees on the Fukuoka City subway system. Source: TNC
