Fukuoka City has announced plans to open a next-generation R & D center with on-site housing near Kyushu University’s Ito Campus in October 2022. The land earmarked for the site is about 31,000m2 of unused land currently owned by Daihatsu Kyushu and the Fukuoka City Land Development Corporation. The site will feature offices for R&D companies and housing for researchers, and the aim is to create new industries and businesses cooperation with Kyushu University and the nearby Fukuoka Industry-Academia Symphoncity.
