Fukuoka City’s ‘Art Fireworks’ Show Returns After Five Years

Fukuoka City is preparing to revive its large-scale “Art Fireworks” event after a five-year break. The show, featuring fireworks launched in time with music, drew more than 10,000 attendees in its 2017 and 2018 editions. The pause in the annual event was due to the COVID-19 pandemic and logistical issues related to its venue, which intersected with the flight path to Fukuoka Airport. The comeback show will take place on September 16th at Marina Town Seaside Park, with approximately 13,000 fireworks set to be launched over an hour, starting at 7 pm. The event expects up to 18,000 attendees, and tickets will be available for purchase starting June 23rd. Source: Hakata Bay Art Fireworks / NHK
