Fukuoka Considering to Build Cruise Ship Terminal

Currently, cruise ships from overseas dock at a wharf in Hakata Bay without use of a permanent terminal. Fukuoka City has announced it is considering the construction of a terminal for visiting cruise ships. By 2022, the number of cruise ships visiting Fukuoka is expected to reach 250 annually, roughly three times the current figure. The new terminal will accommodate multiple cruise ships docking at the same time. Features of the terminal include shops, restaurants and transportation links to the city, including a bus station.
