Fukuoka Duty Free Tenjin will open at 10:00 on Apr. 1 on the ninth floor of Mitsukoshi. To celebrate the opening, the store will host a kagami biraki: a traditional Japanese ceremony at which a cask of sake is opened and sake is passed out. So tourists who visit the store at 10:00 on Apr. 1 will be able to enjoy sake as well as duty-free shopping. As mentioned in our previous post, this will be the first airport-style duty-free shop in Kyushu. If you are within 30 days of your departure date, simply present your passport and boarding pass in order to shop duty-free and tax-free. Approximately 20,000 items from over 50 different brands will be on offer, including cosmetics, perfume, watches, fashion accessories, sunglasses, alcohol, tobacco, and so on.
