The Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University will issue student IDs next spring with the added function of the Nishi-Nippon Railway (Nishitetsu) contactless payment card nimoca. That will allow the card to be used for commuting to school and using on-campus facilities such as the library. It will be issued to the school’s roughly 2,500 students. This will be the first such combined use of a student ID/transportation facility contactless payment card in Kyushu, and the third in Japan.
