Fukuoka City will debut its first large-scale outdoor curved 3D digital billboard, “Ropponmatsu West Vision,” in early August 2025. Operated by Artvertising Inc. and developed by LED Dynamics Fukuoka, the installation is located at the busy Ropponmatsu intersection in Chuo Ward. The display measures 8 meters wide by 4 meters high (approximately 30m2), offering a high-resolution, full-HD visual experience using advanced LED panels and a custom curved screen to enhance the depth and motion of 3DCG content.
Designed to serve as a next-generation advertising platform, the billboard targets businesses aiming to create immersive, high-impact promotions—particularly those in retail, entertainment, tourism, and local government. Ads appear three-dimensional and lifelike, with the goal of capturing attention and encouraging on-the-spot smartphone sharing on social media. The developers aim to make the display a new local landmark and cultural touchpoint.
The billboard will also feature original content, including a space-themed animation of LED Dynamics’ mascot “QB,” aligning with the area’s family-friendly appeal and proximity to the Fukuoka City Science Museum. The Ropponmatsu district has undergone significant redevelopment in recent years and is popular with students, families, and young couples, making it a strategic location for innovative outdoor media.
Recruitment for advertisers is currently underway, with the operator emphasizing the potential of the billboard not just for promotion, but as a platform for community engagement and cultural expression. Source: LED Dynamics
