Fukuoka Opens Helpline for Fathers

Fukuoka Prefecture has opened a dedicated helpline to support fathers balancing work and childcare. The free “Papa’s Childcare Consultation Dial,” staffed by licensed psychologists, operates every Monday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is the first of its kind by a local government in Kyushu. The initiative responds to a rise in paternity leave and aims to reduce stress and isolation among fathers. Officials hope the service will encourage greater male participation in parenting and help families access timely emotional support. Source: Fukuoka Prefecture
