Fukuoka Prefecture and Fukuoka City will partially bear costs for the construction of a US military section at Fukuoka Airport. The ongoing relocation of the US military section inside the airport began in relation to the extension of the runway at Fukuoka Airport with a budget of ¥1.4 billion. Costs of military-related constructions are usually appropriated to the nation’s defense budget.
