Fukuoka Prefecture revealed it will open a training center for technicians in the automotive industry in April. The objective is to increase the technical knowledge of local personnel and enable northern Kyushu to maintain its competitiveness as an auto production center in the face of competition from China and South Korea. The center’s director will be Toshiaki Konomi, a university professor formerly with Toyota Motors.
