Fukuoka Zoo to Host Night Event for Children With Disabilities

Fukuoka City announced plans to hold a special after-hours event at Fukuoka City Zoo on July 25 for children with disabilities and their families. The event, titled “Dream Night at the Zoo,” will invite eligible participants free of charge to enjoy the zoo during cooler evening hours after daytime heat subsides. Organizers said accommodations will include earmuffs to reduce noise and designated calming spaces for children who may become overstimulated. The city launched a similar initiative last year at Marine World Uminonakamichi, where participants requested expansion to additional facilities. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is open to children aged 17 and younger with disabilities or special support needs. Applications are being accepted through the city’s website.
