The five private sector broadcasting companies in Fukuoka City released their financial results, which show that four of the five companies posted increased revenue and earnings. This was attributed to higher revenue from commercials resulting from the government’s eco-car subsidies and consumer electronics eco-point system. They also note, however, that the Tohoku earthquake has caused companies to cut back on advertising expenditures, and the results for the current fiscal year might not be so rosy.
