The Fukuoka Prefecture police and the Fukuoka City government have agreed that members of criminal gangs and affiliated companies will be excluded from the open competitive bidding to purchase city-owned property that will be put up for sale. The city is following the precedent set by the National Police Agency and the Ministry of Finance for the sale of public land in April last year. Fukuoka City will be the first local government in Kyushu to adopt such a measure.
