March 20 will mark the 10th year anniversary of the Fukuoka Prefecture Western Offshore Earthquakes. The civic group “Yume Circle” is organizing an event involving a walk around Genkai Island, the epicenter of the quake. Below is information about the event. The group still needs your help to deal with the recovery. Plans for the event are as follows:
・Meet at the Hakata Passenger Terminal Waiting Room (Bayside Place Hakata Futo) at 8:30 a.m.
・Time: 8:30~14:30
・Fee: ¥1,720 (boat fare)
・Lunch at a fisherman’s restaurant (about ¥1,500)
・Emergency training with Islanders
・Hear first-hand experiences about earthquake and see the island
・Deadline to sign-up is 3/19
