Grade School Students Ride Sightseeing Bus for Free

Nishitetsu’s excursion sightseeing bus making the rounds of Fukuoka City will be free for all primary school students during summer vacation (July 18 to August 31), the company announced, on the condition they are accompanied by someone junior high school age or older. The bus, named Guriinu, began operation last September. It offers an 80-minute trip starting from Hakata Station and visits shrines, temples, and the Fukuoka Tower, among other well-known spots. Though the bus can seat 40, it is usually only half full, which the company says is due to a lack of recognition.
