The Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival has begun in Fukuoka City, showcasing creatively decorated floats. One highlight is the Gundam-themed float, “Gundam Hakata Thunder Legend,” celebrating the series’ 45th anniversary. The Gundam float, part of the 60th anniversary of the running floats tradition, will race through Kushida Shrine on July 15.
