JR Kyushu has installed “anti-voyeur mirrors” on the up escalators at JR Hakata Station to deter illicit filming and promote public awareness. The wide-angle mirrors, measuring 38.2 by 48.5 centimeters, allow passengers to see themselves and those behind them, making potential offenders aware they are being watched. Eight mirrors were installed—JR Kyushu’s first use of the measure—following its proven success in the Fukuoka City Subway system. Police reported around 200 voyeurism-related arrests in Fukuoka Prefecture this year, an increasing trend. Source: KBC
