Hawaiian Airlines is celebrating the 5th anniversary of its direct flights between Fukuoka and Honolulu with a commemorative ceremony and a series of special events. The airline, which began as an inter-island tour service in Hawaii in 1929, is marking 95 years of operation this year. Known for its theme, “Your Hawaiian vacation begins the moment you board,” Hawaiian Airlines continues to strengthen the historical and cultural ties between Fukuoka and Honolulu with three flights weekly.
The anniversary celebration, held from November 22 to 24, 2024, takes place at Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin’s main building on the basement floor. Over the three days, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities and giveaways.
Each day, one lucky participant will win a trip to Hawaii. A large gacha (capsule) machine, offering free Hawaiian Airlines-themed merchandise, is also available for attendees to try. Additionally, exclusive items such as logo T-shirts, Honolulu Cookies, and Lion Coffee are being featured.
Adding to the excitement, Leonard’s Bakery, renowned for its Hawaiian malasadas, is hosting a live demonstration and sales event, marking its first appearance in Kyushu. This milestone event celebrates not only the airline’s achievements but also the deep and enduring connection between Fukuoka and Hawaii.
