Heroic Dog in Chikuzen Saves Man, Earns Police Recognition

In Chikuzen Town, a dog and its owner were commended by the police for saving a life. The incident occurred in October when Happy, a one-year-old Golden Retriever, alerted its owner, Kenji Imamura (34), to a man’s cries after falling into a nearby canal. Imamura, upon discovering the injured man, promptly alerted the police, leading to a successful rescue. At the commendation ceremony held on the 13th at Asakura Police Station, Imamura received a letter of appreciation, and Happy was gifted with horse meat jerky and dog gum. Imamura expressed his honor in being able to help and mentioned rewarding Happy with extra food and his favorite gum. Asakura Police Station chief, Akinaga, commended the community’s prompt reporting and encouraged continued cooperation. Source: NHK
