Highest 56.2% Wants Less Work, Less Salary

Nishi Nippon Financial Holdings (FH) summarized the results of an attitude survey (approximately 1,400 answers) targeted at newly hired employees at about 300 companies in Kyushu and Yamaguchi. In the two-choice questions about salary and overtime, 56.2% of respondents answered that “it is better to have less overtime work with less salary”, which marked the highest rate since the survey began in 2012. Nishi Nippon FH said, “The tendency to emphasize work-life balance (harmonizing work and private life) is increasing.” Source: Yomiuri Shimbun, 6/6/2017
