Inaugural Fukuoka Art Award Ceremony Held

The first-ever Fukuoka Art Award ceremony was held, honoring artists active in Fukuoka City and expected to make further leaps in their careers. The award ceremony, held at the Fukuoka Art Museum, was attended by Mayor Takashima and the winning artists. The Fukuoka Art Award, established this fiscal year, involves the city purchasing and utilizing the works of artists active within the city who are expected to make further advances. Fukuoka City purchased the works of three artists for a total of 6.6 million yen and will exhibit them at the Fukuoka Art Museum from the 29th of March to the 11th of June.
