The Kyushu Economic Research Center released its survey of the awareness of Fukuoka Prefecture university and vocational school students of electricity conservation. The survey found that 31.4% practiced electricity conservation techniques before the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant, but that total had increased to 65.1% after the accident and to 84.9% this summer. In contrast, 30.5% of the students said they did not conserve electricity before the accident, which declined to 8.0% after the accident and 4.3% this summer.
