Kuraya, an Itoshima-based sake vendor, has started manufacturing and selling five different kinds of salad dressing made from local Itoshima specialities. The five flavors are miso and green plum; sake lees; red rice; akamoku (a type of seaweed); and yogurt. The dressings are made as much as possible with locally grown produce, including tomatoes, ginger and other foods. Kuraya says the dressings go great with meat, fish and pasta, in addition to salads. Each bottle contains 150ml and retails for ¥540. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 4/7
