Restaurant chain Joyfull’s consolidated financial statements for the first half of this fiscal year reveal a ¥4.9 billion loss in takings. The decline has primarily been attributed to impairment charges on approximately 260 branches in the Tokyo metropolitan, Tokai, and Kansai areas. Soaring labor costs have also badly affected the restaurant chain, which operates out of Oita. Source: Sankei Digital, 8/13/2019
