JR Kyushu revealed that it anticipates revenue for FY 2011 to total 192.8 billion yen, exceeding their projections as the beginning of the year and a record high for the company. This was attributed primarily to the success of the Kyushu Shinkansen. The additional tax on fixed assets for which the company became liable due to the Shinkansen, however, limited operating profit to 500 million yen, two billion yen less than projected.
