JR Kyushu released its consolidated financial results for the first half, which show that current profit totaled 8.1619 billion yen, a 32.1% year-on-year increase, on 137.9 billion in sales, a 2.5% rise. This is the first rise in profits in four years, and the first increase in revenue in four years. This was attributed to the jump in revenue from the railroad’s real estate division, which offset a slight decline in railroad income.
