JR Kyushu revealed it will start an operation to produce and sell chicken eggs in Iizuka, Fukuoka Prefecture, in August. This will be JR Kyushu’s fourth agricultural enterprise in the region, and the first involving animals instead of vegetables or fruit. The business will be located on a 4,000-square-meter plot and will be operated by JR Kyushu Tamago Farm, a subsidiary 98% owned by JR Kyushu Resort Development, which manages golf courses.
